What is PELTAC?
Professional, Engineering, Leadership, Teamwork and Awareness Camp
PELTAC is organized by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Student Chapter S227. It has been held 12 times, through 1998 until 2010. It has the reputation to be known and recognized as an excellent and educational programme in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Previously, PELTAC was opened only for students in Malaysia, but with its great recognition and feedback from previous participants, PELTAC 2012 is opened internationally!
P - Professional: Inculcating the participants with the attitude and behavior befitting that of a professional
E - Engineering: Sustaining interest among undergraduates to fully develop their potential. To plan, organize and manage one's life
L - Leadership: Exposing the participants to various leadership characteristics and skills, which include self-confidence, self-motivation, good communication skills and ability of management, and to be able to incorporate these skills into daily live
T - Teamwork: Impressing upon the participants the importance of the spirit of teamwork and cooperation and the wonders it is capable of as compared to individual effort
A - Awareness: Instilling in the participants the sense of awareness towards their surroundings and the latest issues and development so as to be able to anticipate events and take necessary actions.
PELTAC was featured as project #47 in One Young World ‘Impact’ Report 2011! The report will be presented to 1,000 youths from 192 countries in Zurich, Switzerland this year, witnessed by global NGO leaders and key figures in this summit is called One Young World 2011. Time to roar PELTAC internationally!
